General Info.:
| Turkey Run park has a number of wooded and riverside trails. The park is a good access point for getting to the Potomac Heritage Trail, which runs along the Potomac River and connects a number of natural and historical sites. | |||||||
| Special Notes: | Spring is a beautiful time to vist Turkey Run. Expect to see many showy and rare flowers such as Bloodroot, trout Lily, Dutchman's Breaches, and Virginia Bluebells (lots of Virginia Bluebells!). There are also a variety of fauna that live along and in the river. You may see beaver, cormorants, and a variety of water birds. The Potomac Heritage trail reaches all the way down to Mt. Vernon, and passes a number of historical sites. | |||||||
